Big family homes, built to last
Many houses in Kadayanallur are large family homes, often with more than one kitchen: a main kitchen for daily cooking and a second one for festivals and gatherings, when many relatives cook together. Those kitchens work hard. They need wide worktops, deep storage for big vessels, and cabinets that can take heavy use for years without sagging.
Planning for families who live away
A lot of homes here are being built or renovated for family members who work in other cities or abroad and can’t be on site every week. For those families we do the planning over WhatsApp: photos, 3D designs and itemised quotations they can review from wherever they are. Relatives in Kadayanallur can be there for the site visit and the installation.
What we usually recommend here
An L-shaped or U-shaped aluminium kitchen with a granite countertop, which handles heat and heavy vessels well. Tall pull-out units for rice, flour and oil in bulk. In bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with lofts for bedding and suitcases, and a built-in locker where the family wants one.
Storage for a household that cooks in bulk
Big families buy rice, dal, oil and spices in bulk, and the usual deep kitchen shelf turns into a dark cave where things get lost. We plan for bulk instead: a tall pull-out larder you can see into from both sides, deep drawers for heavy vessels near the hob, a separate unit for the grinder and mixer, and a lockable cabinet for the festival vessels that come out only a few times a year.
